The Fairmont Winnipeg is a little more costly than your average hotel. This hotel is for those who don't mind spending that little extra. Built in 1970, Fairmont Winnipeg comes from the Canadian Pacific Hotel chain and is considered a deluxe hotel being upgraded continuously. Fairmont Winnipeg is the only Manitoba hotel awarded the AAA/CAA four diamond hotel rating. It also has a restaurant called the Velvet Glove Restaurant that has been listed as a top 10 dining room by the Hotelier Magazine. It has a sort of semi-casual but elegant atmosphere and is close to the Concert Hall, the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature, The Forks Market and Manitoba Theatre.
