The University of Winnipeg established in 1967, is an exceptional school with many learning opportunities. With a small school population of just over 8,700, the University of Winnipeg can direct more attention towards the students and give them a chance to exceed their educational careers. The university has over 40 undergraduate programs offered in the Faculty of Arts and Science, in the fields of education, humanities, science, and social sciences. The University of Winnipeg also offers prospective students a chance to undergo programs jointly offered with Red River College in the areas of Administrative Studies, Applied Biology, Chemistry, Communications, Environmental Studies, and Developmental Studies.
The university has also had some very respectable graduates in its history including Canada’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs, president Lloyd Axworthy of the University of Winnipeg and the former Winnipeg mayor Susan A. Thompson.
