CEREC®

CEREC® stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. If that seems like a mouthful, well, it is...a mouth full of beautiful, natural-looking teeth. Simply put, we can restore damaged teeth quicker and more beautifully than ever before.

It starts when we take a high-resolution, digital image of your damaged tooth with the special CEREC® camera, and generate a 3D model of your tooth. CEREC's® Computer-Aided Design (CAD) technology then allows you and Dr. Brent to design the restoration on a computer monitor right at your chair!

CEREC® System

Then the CEREC® system takes over, and begins to sculpt your new restoration out of a very durable, contiguous block of ceramic. Two high-speed diamond-topped drills and disks work together to ensure that the restoration fits precisely into your existing tooth. We then use ultra-strong adhesive to bond the restoration to your tooth. We can replace old amalgam or composite fillings and even old crowns. Computerized Office and Digital X-Rays

At Shine Dental, we are fully equipped with computer terminals in every operatory. All of the charting and the scheduling is computerized. In fact, we are virtually paperless!

We have also converted to digital xrays, which means that with all of the xrays that we take we will expose you to less radiation. And with monitors right in front of you, you'll be able to see your tooth concerns with your own eyes!

IntraOral Cameras

Our operatories are equipped with an intraoral camera which gives you an 'inside look' of your teeth and gums. In the past, patients could not always see what the dentist was talking about. Now you'll be able to see what the dentist sees. And with computer monitors right in front of you, you can fly through your mouth in real time!

Computerized Mock-Ups

Because Dr. Brent has worked many years in the graphic design business, he is able to provide you with a computer generated picture of what you would look like after treatment if you decided to pursue it. He simply takes a 'before' picture of your smile and alters it to give you an approximate ideal outcome.

Relaxing Root Canals

At Shine Dental, we have purchased state of the art endodontic equipment to increase your comfort and decrease your appointment length. With the advances in root canal therapy, you can have your entire root canal procedure finished in one appointment! This new equipment allows us to better perform procedures with more successful outcomes.

Coloured Fillings for Kids!

Kids LOVE coloured fillings! Because of the nature of this filling material, they are not suitable for adult teeth. But, since kids teeth are not in their mouths for very long, these fillings are a great way to have your child get excited about a trip to the dentist!
